Kenneth M. Leatherman

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Kenneth M. Leatherman, 80, of 8710 Capital Hill Road, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center.

Born Oct. 25, 1922, in Wolfsville, he was the son of the late Lloyd Lowens and Lucy Jane Miller Leatherman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Freda P. Triesh Leatherman, in 1983. They were married in December 1941.

He attended school in Wolfsville.

He was employed as a mechanic by Bester Long in Hagerstown. He owned and operated Leatherman's Garage in Waynesboro. He was employed by Quincy Township, retiring in 1982.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He attended Maugansville Brethren Church.

He was a member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 and William Max McLaughlin VFW Post 695 both of Waynesboro and Waynesboro Fish and Game Association.


He is survived by two daughters, Gloria J. Kauffman and Barbara A. Bigler, both of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Linda L. Leatherman; and two brothers, Frances Leatherman and Lawrence Leatherman.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Burial will be in Quincy (Pa.) Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
