FREDERICK, Md. - Boscov's Department Store could be coming to Frederick in time for the Christmas holiday shopping season.
Frederick officials announced Friday that a lease is expected to be signed between Boscov's and Frederick Towne Mall for the space recently vacated by J.C. Penney, according to a news release.
Site plans for the approximately 200,000-square-foot store could be approved as early as Monday by the Frederick Planning Commission, according to the release.
Boscov's has a store in Salisbury, Md., and one is expected to open in Westminster, Md., in April.
Boscov's could employ about 400 people in the Frederick area, according to the release.
