Louise D. Karn

FREDERICK, Md. - Louise Davis Karn, 78, of Crestwood Village and formerly of Middletown, Md., and Lehigh Acres, Fla., died Thursday, March 6, 2003, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 8, 1924, in Smith County, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Charles Franklin II and Hazel Vern Davis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry O. Karn.

She was a 1943 graduate of Cheyenne County High School.

She joined the stateside force of American women working in defense of America during World War II.

She worked for Bendix Radio in Baltimore, Everready Co. in Frederick and retired from C&P Telephone Co. in Rockville, Md.

She is survived by two daughters, Juanita Conkling of Arlington, Va., and Gloria Eaves of New Windsor, Md.; one son, Frank Karn of Damascus, Md.; two sisters, Rachel Davis of St. Francis, Kan., and Reba Raile of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles H. Davis.

Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Burkittsville, Md. The Rev. Mark Foucart will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Burkittsville.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, Middletown.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Burkittsville, MD 21718; or to a charity of one's choice.
