Reda M. Bowers

QUINCY, Pa. - Reda M. Bowers, 89, of Quincy United Methodist Home and a resident of Hearthstone Retirement Home, Waynesboro, Pa., died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at the nursing home.

Born July 22, 1913, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Harry F. and Ellen E. Trostle Bowers.

She was a 1931 graduate of Waynesboro High School.

She was employed by Anthony Wayne Hotel in Waynesboro. She was a clerk at various local stores and gave private piano lessons.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Waynesboro.

She is survived by one brother, Merle D. Bowers of Village of Laurel Run Nursing Home in Fayetteville; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Edna Traub and one brother, Cletus Bowers.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro. The Rev. Jay E. Zimmerman will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Prospect Church Cemetery, Lewistown, Md.

There will be no public viewing. The family will receive friends Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 6 W. Second St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.

Arrangements are by Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
