Commissioners say they took no action after closed session

March 06, 2003|by TARA REILLY

Washington County Commissioners President Gregory I. Snook said the commissioners did not take any action dealing with the Human Resources department after a closed session Tuesday.

He also said the county did not issue a public statement regarding the matter after the closed session because there was nothing to report.

Snook said last week an unspecified Human Resources issue would be discussed in closed session on Tuesday and that a public statement would be forthcoming.

Last week, County Attorney Richard Douglas said Human Resources Director Alan Davis was out of the office and would not say when he would return.

Douglas said all department concerns should be directed to Assistant Human Resources Director Dee Hawbaker.

Davis is being paid by the county while he is out of the office, Douglas said.

Davis' annual salary is $79,667. He was hired in 1981, Douglas said.
