WAYNESBORO, Pa. - John M. Burker, 54, of 10321 Old Forge Road, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at his home.
Born Sept. 20, 1948, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late George M. and Georgia L. Davis Burker.
He was a 1966 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.
He worked for Frick Co. in Waynesboro for five years. He was a machinist at Mack Trucks in Hagerstown for 28 years, retiring in 2002.
He was a member of BPO Elks Lodge 731, Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1191, Eagles Club Inc., all of Waynesboro, Mason Dixon Bowling Association, Central Maryland Bowling Association, National Rifle Association, National AARP and UAW 171.
He is survived by his wife, Maryellen Schaller Burker, whom he married June 21, 1986; three daughters, Shannon M. Hardsock of Mercersburg, Pa., M. Elizabeth Cesnick and Rebecca A. Cesnick, both of Waynesboro; one son, Curtis E. Myers of Greencastle, Pa.; five sisters, V. Ann Smith, Beverly M. Hoover and Debra M. Sottile, all of Hagerstown, Phyllis J. Brandenburg of Smithsburg and Murriel J. Schellhase of Greencastle; and four grandchildren.
