Elizabeth K. Sanders

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Elizabeth Kathryn Sanders, 92, of 112 Village Square, died Saturday, March 1, 2003, at Menno Haven.

Born June 20, 1910, in Turtle Creek, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Rev. John C. and Margaret E. Boyer Sanders.

She was a 1928 graduate of Chambersburg High School and a 1932 graduate of Wilson College. She studied at Duke University and earned a master's degree in library science from Western Reserve University in Cleveland in 1946.

She worked as a librarian at Coyle Library in Chambersburg and at the Allentown, Pa. library. From 1951 to 1953, she was a U.S. Army librarian, residing in France and Germany. She was last employed by the Lancaster, Pa., library, retiring in 1987.


She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Chambersburg.

She is survived by one nephew, John S. Sanders of Chambersburg and cousins.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, John B. Sanders, Calvin B. Sanders and W. Franklin Sanders.

A memorial service will be Sunday, March 23, at 2 p.m. at Zion United Church of Christ, Chambersburg. The Rev. Jeffrey R. Diller will officiate.

Private burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Marion, Pa.
