Hendershot hospitalized

March 05, 2003|by SCOTT BUTKI

Hagerstown City Councilman N. Linn Hendershot missed Tuesday's Hagerstown City Council work session and the State of the City Address because he was in Washington County Hospital for respiratory problems.

He was listed in fair condition Tuesday, hospital officials said.

Hendershot said he had himself checked into the hospital Monday after having respiratory problems, which he often has about this time of year.

He expected to continue being treated at the hospital until Thursday or Friday, he said.

While he was disappointed he missed the speech and the meeting, he was in no pain, he said.

Hendershot also was in the hospital for a few days in late December for breathing problems caused by pneumonia.

Hendershot, who breathes with the aid of a ventilator, has said it is even more difficult to breathe when he has congestion and respiratory problems.
