Pa. man charged after snowball fight

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Chambersburg man was charged with harassment after throwing a snowball at a youth Saturday afternoon in a school playground, Chambersburg Police said.

Gregory Rosenberry, no age given, of 77 Maribeth Drive, was charged with one count of harassment, police said.

The victim, a 13-year-old boy, told police he was struck in the back by a snowball the man threw while in the playground at King Street Elementary School, 145 E. King St., police said.

The boy suffered a welt to his back, police said.

Man faces sexual assault, DUI charges

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A man wanted on sexual assault-related charges was in Franklin County Prison after being charged with driving under the influence Sunday, Chambersburg Police said.

While police were processing Elmer E. Morales-Vasquez, 24, of no fixed address, on DUI charges Sunday evening, police learned the name he first gave was false, police allege. They also discovered there was a bench warrant issued for his arrest by the Franklin County Sheriff's Department, stemming from his 2001 charges, police said.


Morales-Vasquez was turned over to the sheriff's department and incarcerated in Franklin County Prison, police said.

He remained in the jail Monday, a prison official said.

In May 2001, Morales-Vasquez was charged with one count each of statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 and indecent assault on a person less than 16 after a 14-year-old girl claimed she had a sexual encounter with him in his car, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

Man charged with peeping into windows

FREDERICK, Md. - A Frederick man was charged late Sunday with trespassing to peep through the windows of a couple's apartment, according to the Frederick Police Department.

Robert A. Onley, 29, of 2650 Mosby Court, faces three counts of trespass for the purpose of invading privacy by looking into premises and one count of harassment, police said.

Onley was caught twice in the act of peeping into the windows of a home on Prospect Boulevard in Frederick - once by the apartment's residents and once by officers, police alleged.

Snowboard, TV, plow among stolen items

Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Department on Monday were investigating the following incidents, Sgt. Mark Knight said.

  • A snowboard and snowboarding equipment valued at $600 were reported stolen at 1 p.m. on Feb. 28 from a vehicle being stored at Affordable Towing, 18418 Maugans Ave.

  • A television with VCR valued at $400 and a cell phone valued at $150 were reported stolen at 10:15 a.m. on Feb. 28 from Radio Shack in Hagerstown's Valley Mall.

  • A snowplow worth about $2,000 was reported stolen at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 28 from a field at 19736 Beaver Creek Road in Hagerstown.

  • The windows of a front-end loader were reported damaged at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 at 15365 Clear Spring Road. Damages are estimated at $500.

  • A hole was shot through the front door of Rankin's Used Golf Carts, 16827 National Pike in Hagerstown, causing about $200 worth of damage. The incident was reported at 8:30 a.m. on March 1.

  • Sixty compact discs valued at $600 were reported stolen Sunday from a vehicle parked at 19723 Meadowbrook Road in Hagerstown.
