Allergy elimination

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Wellspring Acupuncture announces a free series of classes on allergy elimination and care, to be held Tuesdays, through March 25.

Each class will focus on the holistic approach to allergies, including what individuals can do to help themselves.

The class will be held Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. through March 25, at Wellspring Acupuncture, 304 W. Burke St. Each class stands alone and will feature different areas of interest.

YMCA classes

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - The Waynesboro YMCA will offer the following:

  • Tae Kwon Do classes for adults and youth Monday and Wednesday from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

  • Gymnastics instruction for ages 6 to 18; kindergarten, ages 3 1/2 to 5; parent and tot classes Tuesdays from 9 to 9:45 a.m.

  • The crunch exercise class now meets from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sign up for free Cardio Step or Starter Fitness.

  • Pilates, a new fitness trend, uses slow controlled movements to strengthen the total body while improving posture and flexibility. Classes meet Monday and Wednesday, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, from 10 to 11 a.m.

  • The fees for the Y scuba program beginning March 8 will be $160 for family member; $180 for member; and $240 for a pass.

  • The focus for the indoor track and field program this week will be throwing events for students in grades 7 through 12.

  • Youth strength and fitness class will focus on the importance of exercise for a healthy life while having fun. Meets Tuesday and Thursday, from 4 to 5 p.m.

  • The First National Bank of Greencastle and Sentry Trust Co. will have its annual basketball clinic. Fifth and sixth graders from area teams will compete. The tournament is March 6 to 8.

Arthritis program

Hagerstown Community College will offer an exclusive Arthritis Foundation program. Sylvia Rodgers, a P.A.C.E. certified instructor, has designed a program for people with arthritis that uses gentle activities to help increase flexibility, range of motion and muscle strength. Individuals with arthritis, including those who use walkers or wheelchairs may participate.

People with multiple and/or severe joint problems or who have just had joint surgery should check with their doctors about the need for any precautions.

Course SEN 074 E will be held from April 22 to July 10, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Course SEN 074 F will be held from April 22 to July 10, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m., at Seventh-day Adventist Church.
