F&M Trust

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - F&M Trust will open its Menno Village community office at 2075 Scotland Ave., Chambersburg, on the Menno Village campus of Menno Haven on March 3.

The office will become the bank's 14th location and its second on a retirement community campus. F&M Trust operates an office on the Penn Hall campus of Menno Haven.

Bonnie Yocum of Chambersburg, financial services officer and community office manager, will manage the Menno Village Office and the Penn Hall Office where she has served as manager since it opened in 1996.

Sheila J. Cooper of Chambersburg is customer service representative at Menno Village. Cooper has worked in the credit recovery, retail, and marketing departments.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Mark Gayman has accepted an invitation to join the board of directors of Tower Bancorp Inc.

Gayman owns Gaymere Farms in Waynesboro, Pa.

O'Neill Physical Therapy Services

Mary Jo Foglesong, physical therapist with O'Neill Physical Therapy Services in Hagerstown, recently completed a two-day course entitled Vestibular Rehabilitation.

The course focused on assessment and treatment of patients with vertigo and dysequilibrium.

FREDERICK, Md. - Tyler Sprecher had been promoted to creative director at Love & Co., a marketing, research, advertising and public relations agency in Frederick.

Tyler, who has been with Love & Co. since 1995, leads the development of all creative materials.

Bechtel Power Corp.

FREDERICK, Md. - Janis McGuffin, administrative secretary at Bechtel Power Corp. in Frederick, recently achieved the certified administrative professional rating from the International Association of Administrative Professionals.

Barbara Owens, supervisor of administrative services at Bechtel Power Corp. in Frederick, achieved the certified professional secretary rating.

This distinction requires an individual to meet education and experience requirements, and pass a comprehensive examination covering finance and business law, office systems and administration, and management.

Family Health Services Crossings

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Staff members from Family Health Services Crossings program recently attended the 17th National Training Institute, titled "Babies Can't Wait, Critical Issues for the Infant/Family Field," in Washington.

Crossings works to strengthen parenting and family life skills of adolescent parents living in Franklin County.


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Ron Lipella is the CoxHollida LLP PLUS Award Winner for September-December 2002.

The PLUS Award is intended to recognize people who have exceeded the expectations of clients, other firm members or the firm.

Lipella, tax manager/controller for CoxHollida, was awarded for being instrumental in setting up the firm's employee incentive plan.

The runner-up for the award was David Decker, CPA, accounting and assurance manager.

Bank of Charles Town

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Cathy Jo Fraley has been promoted to assistant manager of Deposit Operations at Bank of Charles Town.

Fraley has held positions at F&M Bank - Blakeley and Bank of Charles Town.

Jessica Miller has been appointed assistant branch manager of the new Hedgesville, W.Va., branch of the Bank of Charles Town, opening in the spring.

Miller was formerly a relationship banker with Branch Banking & Trust in Hedgesville.

Independent Pharmacy Consultant

Linda M. Smith, independent pharmacy consultant, recently attended a continuing education seminar sponsored by the Maryland Chapter of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists on "Managing Behaviors in Older Individuals."

The seminar focused on psychoses and dementia including Alzheimer's disease.

Smith also has been accredited as a certified geriatric pharmacist by the Commission for Certification in Geriatric Pharmacy.

Synergy Healing Arts Center and Massage School

BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - Synergy Healing Arts Center and Massage School director/instructor Margie E. Schaeffer instructed an ethics course for recertification of nationally certified massage therapists on Jan. 12.

The following nationally certified massage therapist received three hours of continuing education: Chuck and Terrye Armstrong of Chambersburg, Pa.; Janice Wingert of Chambersburg, Pa.; Deb Kuhn of Thurmont, Md.; Ginger DuPuis of Chambersburg; Peggy Williams of Mercersburg, Pa.; Connie Eichelberger of Smithsburg; and Samuel Key, Hagerstown.

Farmers & Mechanics Bank

FREDERICK, Md. - James L. Hogan has been promoted to executive vice president of Farmers & Mechanics Bank, an affiliate of F&M Bancorp headquartered in Frederick.

Hogan has primary responsibility for enterprise risk management for the corporation. He joined the bank in 1998 as senior vice president and senior lending officer.
