Kenneth H. Patterson


Kenneth Holt Patterson, 91, formerly of 18034 Par Three Drive, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Oct. 11, 1911, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Robert M. and Nanetta M. Smith Patterson.

He retired from Fairchild Aircraft in 1976 after 33 years.

He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, attended Ott Mens' Bible Class and had served on the church council, was an usher, a Sunday school teacher and treasurer.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ilga White Patterson; two daughters, Joyce McCoy of Hagerstown and Gwen Markley of Big Pool, Md.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis W. Patterson.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. David B. Kaplan and Thomas L. Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10:30 to 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 601 Washington Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740.




Dorothy L. Stewart


CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Dorothy Louise Stewart, 65, of Charles Town, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Aug. 8, 1937, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Irvin B. and Mary Bitner Eberly.

She was a 1955 graduate of Greencastle High School.

She was employed by CVS, formerly Peoples Drug Store, for 42 years, retiring in 1997.

She was a Protestant.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Charles E. Stewart; one daughter, Betty A. Cook of Ranson, W.Va.; two sons, Charles R. Stewart of Charles Town and Larry E. Stewart of Middleway, W.Va.; two sisters, Helen Helman of Chambersburg, Pa. and Catherine Griner of Panama City, Fla.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Sonny Eberly.

Services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, Harpers Ferry, W.Va. The Rev. Shane Wilt will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Lutheran Cemetery, Bolivar, W.Va.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Frank F. Conrad Jr.


WAYNESBORO, Pa. - A memorial service for Frank F. Conrad Jr., 73, of 8795 Gap Road, who died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Rev. Phillip VanDam will officiate.

Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends Sunday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.




Izetta F. Greenwalt


HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Izetta Faye Greenwalt, 62, of Route 1, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.

Born March 22, 1940, in Harpers Ferry, she was the daughter of the late Russell L. and Margaret Piper Cogle.

She was a member of Church of the First Born in Harpers Ferry.

She is survived by her husband, Pete Greenwalt; three daughters, Kathy Whetzel of Charles Town, W.Va., Karen A. Greenwalt and Kelly Renner, both of Harpers Ferry; two sons, Franklin E. Greenwalt of Middleway, W.Va. and Donald Greenwalt of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two sisters, Janice Popkins and Patsy Cogle, both of Harpers Ferry; one brother, Calvin Cogle of Harpers Ferry; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy M. Greenwalt; one son, John W. Greenwalt; and one sister, Violet See.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Paul Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.

The family will receive friends today and Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Kenneth J. Blankley


WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Kenneth John Blankley, 66, of Warfordsburg, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at Avalon Manor Nursing Home.

Born Jan. 29, 1937, in Warfordsburg, he was the son of the late Wilson and Hilda Bishop Blankley.

He attended Warfordsburg schools.

He was a self-employed farmer and carpenter, and a Bethel Township (Pa.) supervisor.

He is survived by one daughter, Iris Sagi of Hagerstown; one son, Dexter Blankley of Hagerstown; five sisters, Anna Crilley of Pectonville, Md., Shirley Breakall, Bessie Wagner and Evelyn Powell, all of Warfordsburg, and Betty Johnson of Hancock; seven brothers, George Blankley of Hancock, Joseph Blankley of Hedgesville, W.Va., Ronald Blankley of Hagerstown and Lot Blankley, Rusty Blankley, Dale Blankley and Steven Blankley, all of Warfordsburg; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Grant Blankley.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Delmas Bard will officiate.

There will be no visitation.
