Heavy snow causes Legion roof to collapse

BRUNSWICK, Md. - A section of the wooden roof of The Brunswick American Legion collapsed under heavy snow, said Todd Webber, assistant captain of the Brunswick Volunteer Fire Co.

The fire department was called to the legion, at 18 South Maple Ave. in Brunswick, at 4:41 p.m., he said. The collapse occurred on the second floor in the back half of the building, he said.

"It pushed the cinder block walls out and the roof come right down in the middle of it," he said.

He said there was no one in the building when the roof collapsed.
