  • HB 17 - Changes the income and asset requirements for eligibility in the Maryland Pharmacy Assistance Program to allow qualified Medicare beneficiaries to enroll. The bill has passed the House of Delegates and moves to the Senate.

  • HB 143 - Extends for one year the Medbank prescription drug program, which is due to expire June 30. A hearing on the bill, sponsored by Del. John P. Donoghue, D-Washington, was held Feb. 4 in the House Health and Government Operations Committee.

  • HB 236/HB 828 - Makes it easier for hospitals across the state to get state permission to perform open heart surgery and other cardiac services. Hearings are scheduled Feb. 18 in the House Health and Government Operations Committee.

  • HB 800 - Calls for a voter referendum before Maryland can legalize slot machines. A hearing is scheduled Feb. 25 in the House Ways and Means Committee.

  • HB 661 - Requiring an Internet service provider to remove access to child pornography within five days of a court order. A hearing is scheduled March 4 in the House Judiciary Committee.
