BRUNSWICK, Md. - Craig Wachter hit the game-winning 3-pointer with less than 20 seconds remaining as Brunswick stunned No. 4 Middletown, 71-68 in the Monocacy Valley Athletic League on Tuesday night.

Matt Feldman scored 18 of his team-high 31 points from beyond the 3-point line, and the Railroaders (11-7, 8-7) sank 9 of 16 from beyond the arc.

Middletown (13-4, 10-2) grabbed the lead in the third quarter and watched it disappear as Brunswick stayed red hot offensively.

SYKESVILLE, Md. - Luke Ledyard had 18 points as No. 1 Thomas Johnson rolled past South Carroll to remain undefeated.

Demetrius Bryant had 15 points and six steals, and Dominique Smallwood added 14 points for the Patriots (19-0, 15-0 Central Maryland Conference). Drew Gaeng and Darnell Edmonds each had seven assists.

The drama that unfolded Jan. 26 when Goretti defeated Calvert Hall on two free throws at the end of the game did not unfold Tuesday night at the Gael Center.

Joey Breslin hit a 3-pointer for a 5-2 lead and St. Maria Goretti was on its way to a victory over Calvert Hall, its seventh consecutive win, all coming since coach Cokey Robertson notched his 700th career win on the come-from-behind day at Calvert Hall.

The Gaels (17-13, 5-7) notched the Baltimore Catholic League victory by maintaining no less than a seven-point lead from midway through the second period.

Derrick Davis had 18 points and went 6-for-6 from the foul line in the final quarter. Breslin added 10 points and Mason Herman had 10 points on 5-for-7 shooting.

The Gaels dominated the boards, 33-21, many resulting in offensive putbacks and one transition break resulting in a crowd-pleasing slam by Mike Nelson. Breslin had eight rebounds and Davis seven.

Calvert Hall is 13-13, 4-8.

Buck Hodge led all scorers with 26 points for Carlisle.
