Police seek driver in fatal hit and run

A fatal hit-and-run collison between a van and a tractor-trailer in front of the Pilot Travel Center on Md. 63 on Feb. 1 is the topic of this week's Crime Solvers case in Washington County.

Killed in the accident was James Edward Wilcox, 32, of McGregor Drive, Hagerstown, the driver of a 1993 Chevrolet Astro van that was traveling on Md. 63 when it hit a tractor trailer about midway on the driver's side as it pulled out of the travel center at 12:11 a.m.

After the impact, the tractor- trailer, which would have had visible damage, left the area southbound on Md. 63, Maryland State Police said.

All leads in this case have been exhausted and Crime Solvers is seeking the help of the community.

If anyone knows the person or persons responsible for the crime, Crime Solvers wants to hear about it.
