Deadline nears to apply for financial aid


The deadline is March 1 for students interested in applying for Maryland's need-based financial aid.

To be eligible, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, available electronically at www.fafsa.ed.gov, or pick up paper copies of the form from libraries, high school guidance offices or by contacting the Maryland Higher Education Commission.

This year, the Office of Student Financial Assistance of the Maryland Higher Education Commission will award more than $80 million in financial aid to Maryland students.

'Alice in Wonderland' to be staged at HCC


Hagerstown Community College's Student Program Board will sponsor the National Marionette Theatre's performance of "Alice in Wonderland" on Sunday at 3 p.m. in the college's Kepler Theater.

The National Marionette Theatre has been in existence for almost 35 years. Each season the company tours coast-to-coast with programs for adults and children.
