HCC women, men take JuCo losses

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL



Hagerstown Community College suffered through a cold-shooting night, hitting just 27 percent from the field - including an 0-for-15 mark from 3-point range - as the Hawks fell to Cecil Community College 70-58 Monday in a Maryland JuCo contest at the HCC athletic complex.

Alicia Romero and Kim Davis each had 12 points for the Hawks (13-8, 7-4). Kristy Gaines had nine rebounds.

Chante Livingston led Cecil with 17 points.

BALTIMORE - Mike Harrison scored a career-high 35 points as Baltimore Community College beat Hagerstown Community College in a Maryland JuCo Conference game.

Rexson Kenley scored 15 points, while Lawrence Wingate and Nate Naylor each added 14 points for HCC (11-10, 8-7).

FREDERICK, Md. - Demetrius Bryant had 22 points, while Thomas Richard added 21 points and seven rebounds to lead Thomas Johnson to its 32nd straight regular season victory.

Luke Ledyard had 10 points, seven assists and eight rebounds for the Patriots (17-0, 13-0 Central Maryland Conference), whose last loss in the regular season came on Dec. 29, 2001, against Mt. Vernon, N.Y., in a Christmas tournament in Binghamton, N.Y.

The Patriots' last loss was in last year's Class 4A title game, 50-45 to Eleanor Roosevelt at University of Maryland's Cole Field House.

PAW PAW, W.Va. - Jeremy Newton had 25 points and Hancock rallied to beat Paw Paw.

John Poffenberger had 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Jeff Willison had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Panthers (8-9).

ROMNEY, W.Va. - The Indians' 1-2 punch of Matt Rockwell and Andy Omps combined for 47 points as Berkeley Springs earned a big win over Hampshire.

Rockwell finished with 30 points, while Omps pitched in with 17 for the Indians (8-6). Tony Belt added 12 points for the winners.

Philip Cee had 17 for Hampshire.
