CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - The Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County is having their fifth annual Valentine's Open House Saturday, Feb. 15, from noon to 3 p.m. at the animal welfare society shelter on Leetown Pike, just outside Charles Town.

WXVA Extra Country 98.3 will be on hand to highlight some of the cats, kittens, dogs and puppies that are looking for homes. Each new pet owner will receive a free AWS T-shirt or AWS license tag, pet identification tag and a pet goodie bag for their new best friend. There also will be refreshments and AWS merchandise for sale at this event. Remember, wet noses are better than roses. Visit with all the pets.
