GREENCASTLE, Pa. - A Chambersburg, Pa., man charged in the shooting death of his estranged wife outside their Guilford Township home in November had a court appearance this week postponed for the third time.

Bruce Forsythe Sr. was scheduled to appear before District Justice Shirley Shatzer Thursday for a preliminary hearing, but it was continued until 3 p.m. March 10.

Forsythe, 53, is charged with one count of first-degree murder, according to court records. He was being held without bail in the Franklin County Prison.

His estranged wife, Joanna Plummer, 32, died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest in front of her Molly Pitcher Highway South home on Nov. 24, 2002.

Pennsylvania State Police said a domestic dispute between Forsythe and Plummer erupted at around 2:45 p.m. and ended with the fatal shooting.

Plummer obtained a protection from abuse order against Forsythe through the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas less than two weeks before her death, according to court records.
