Sallie M. Sisler


WILLIAMSPORT - Sallie Margaruitte Cook Sisler, 80, of 154 N. Artizan St. and formerly of Trego Road, Keedysville and Falling Waters, W.Va., died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Williamsport Retirement Village.

Born July 9, 1922, in Sharpsburg, she was the daughter of the late Frank Cook and Stella Mose Cook Hoffmaster.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Howell "Dick" Sisler, in 1995.

She and her husband owned and operated Trego Store and Elevator.

She formerly attended Chestnut Grove Church of God.

She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie M. Hoffman of Falling Waters; four grandchildren, Donna K. Hart of Falling Waters, Rodney A. Bussard and Lori R. Brown, both of Hagerstown, and Christine D. Witmer of Philadelphia; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and 22 foster children.

Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro. The Rev. Josephine Benton will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery, Bakersville.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




William J. Gerardi


William Joseph "Bill" Gerardi, 77, of Hagerstown, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born March 11, 1925, in Sharpsburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Gerardi.

He was employed by Mack Trucks in Hagerstown for 28 years as a cost accounting supervisor, retiring in 1987.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a flight navigator in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He was a member and lector at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hagerstown.

He was a member and past president of Mack Toastmasters Club.

He was a member of Mack Golden Bulldogs, Elks Lodge 378, Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion and a past member of Mack Management Club of Hagerstown.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dorothy Estelle Boris Gerardi; a daughter, Barbara A. Gerardi of Hagerstown; three sons, Joseph J. Gerardi of Dryden, N.Y., David W. Gerardi of St. Augustine, Fla., and John M. Gerardi of Laurel, Md.; two sisters, Helen Sexton of Pittsburgh and Ann Aluise of Upper Marlboro, Md.; and a brother, Samuel Gerardi of Riverside, Calif.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert S. Passarelli will be celebrant. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Hagerstown, where a rosary service will be held at 7 p.m.

Paula F. Davis


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Paula Francine Davis, 36, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Winchester Medical Center.

Born Sept. 5, 1966, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of Brenda Eversole Nalley of Martinsburg.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a sister, Katrina N. Heath of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; her grandfather, Earl Eversole; and a nephew.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Al Clipp will officiate.

Burial will be private in Rosedale Cemetery.




Madylen J. Fry


HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Madylen Julia Ashton Fry, 3 months, of Hedgesville, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Oct. 22, 2002, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of David L. and Alissa Ashton Fry.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by grandparents Allen C. Ashton of Hedgesville and Margie R. Ashton of Martinsburg and Bill and Dora L. Woodward of Hedgesville and great-grandparents Daniel and Kathleen Ashton of Hedgesville.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Elmer L. Fry.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Central Chapel Church in Ganotown, W.Va. The Rev. Don Cherry will officiate.

Burial will be private.

Mary M. Wilder


BOLIVER, W.Va. - Mary M. Wilder, 88, of 108 Jackson St., died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.

Born Nov. 23, 1914, in Rochester, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Louis A. and Fanny Nasca Magro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel G. Wilder.

She was a retired dietitian from C&P Telephone Co. in Washington, D.C., and Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.

She attended Bolivar United Methodist Church where she was a member of Pollyanna Class.

She was a member of Charles Town Chapter 128 Order of the Eastern Star, Women's Auxiliary of Jefferson Memorial Hospital and the Belltel Retiree Association.

She is survived by a daughter, Helen W. Gibson of Woodbine, Md., and two grandchildren, Amy W. Gibson of Mount Airy, Md., and Clyde F. Gibson III of Woodbine.

She was preceded in death by a son, Samuel G. Wilder Jr.; a sister, Rose Corscia; and two brothers, John Magro and Joe Magro.
