Peggy J. Kendle


Peggy Jean Kendle, 59, of 17811 Daisy Drive, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at her home.

Born June 21, 1943, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Mary C. Wyrick Stouffer of Hagerstown and the late Wilbur F. Stouffer.

She was a 1961 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.

She was employed by the Hagerstown Trust Co. for 41 years.

She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 39 years, Dennis L. Kendle; one son, Daniel S. Kendle of Hagerstown; one sister, Doris A. Leasure of Hagerstown; one brother, Stanley E. Stouffer of Hagerstown; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; and one great-great-niece.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Revs. David B. Kaplan and Thomas L. Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Joseph R. Saylor


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -Joseph Raymond Saylor, 59, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Born Dec. 10, 1943, in Sharpsburg, he was the son of the late Charles Raymond and Laura Floretta Myers Saylor.

He served in the U.S. Navy and Army.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret V. Gladden Saylor; one son, Shane Saylor of Maryland; one stepdaughter, LaDonna K. Stutso of Germantown, Md.; three stepsons, Clifford Hess and Jamie L. Hess, both of Martinsburg, and Mark A. Hess of Hedgesville, W.Va.; three stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Pastor Don Cherry will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, with military services by Martinsburg Veterans Combined Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jack E. Webber


ST. THOMAS, Pa. - Jack E. Webber, 63, of 7658 Cumberland Circle, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at Manorcare Health Services in Chambersburg, Pa.

Born May 29, 1939, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Roy E. and Margaret Lawrence Webber.

He was the manager of Wesley Yeager American Legion Post 606 in Fort Loudon, Pa. He had been employed by Sites Jet Lube in Chambersburg.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was a member of Chambersburg Club, Hume-McNeil-Byers AMVETS Post 224, BPO Elks Lodge 600, Landis McCleaf Detachment Marine Corps League, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 842 and Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599, all of Chambersburg; Detrich-Brechbill American Legion Post 612, St. Thomas; Harry Lackhove American Legion Post 517 and Clarence Armstrong VFW Post 6241, both of Mercersburg; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, McConnellsburg, Pa.; and Wesley Yeager American Legion Post 606, Fort Loudon.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia "Pat" Shaw Barthalow; one daughter, Brenda L. Webber of Chambersburg; three sisters, Geraldine Wrights of Chambersburg, Judy Shockey of Mont Alto, Pa., and Nancy Fox of Chambersburg; two brothers, George Webber of St. Thomas, and Bobby R. Webber of Chambersburg; and one granddaughter.

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. The Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.

John Ceravalo


FALLING WATERS, W.Va. -John Ceravalo, 73, of Falling Waters, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born April 7, 1929, in Falling Waters, he was the son of the late Domenick and Julia Allen Ceravalo.

He is survived by three sisters, Frances Lloyd of Charles Town, W.Va., Clara Haines of Pikeside, W.Va., and Gloria Green of Falling Waters; and four brothers, Tony Ceravalo of Charles Town and James Ceravalo, Norman Ceravalo and David Ceravalo, all of Martinsburg.

He was preceded in death by 10 sisters and brothers.

Services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




G. Richard Price


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - G. Richard "Pinky" Price, 65, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born March 17, 1937, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Theodore J. and Sarah Crawford Price.

He was a member and secretary of Ryan Neal No. 1 Fire Station.
