Two face drug chargesafter sale to informant

Two Hagerstown residents are facing charges related to the sale of drugs to a confidential narcotic's informant Friday, Hagerstown Police said.

Darien Revwell Ford, 33, of 802 W. Franklin St. and Suellen Phillips, 32, of 12 W. Lee St. were charged with distribution of crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of crack cocaine, police said.

Officers were led on a brief foot chase before the two people were taken into custody in the area of the 200 block of West Franklin Street.

Ford and Phillips were waiting to see the District Court Commissioner on Friday night.

Sheriff's Department investigates area thefts

The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following calls Thursday:

  • A 2002 Honda RX100-R bike was reported taken from a garage in the 9400 block of Sharpsburg Pike. No estimate of the value was available.

  • Three vending machines had been broken into at Prime Outlets. Damage to the machines was estimated at $150, but there was no estimate for the amount of change taken.
