Hagerstown Suns



Will Smith has been hired by the Hagerstown Suns as director of ticket sales and merchandise.

Smith, 29, a native of Dumont, N.J., comes to the Suns after two years in the front office of the New Haven Ravens, the Double-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Smith will oversee the Suns ticket department, including group sales, picnics, season tickets, and mini-plans. He also will head up the merchandise and promotional efforts for the ball club.




Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage



SuZanne Glocker of the Glocker Group was the top listing sales associate by volume and units and the top sales associate by settled volume with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in December 2002.

Florence K. Taylor-Block was the top sales associate by settled units.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Butch Cazin was the top producer and the top seller at the Martinsburg Long & Foster office in December 2002 with a sales volume of $1,128,300.

Dottie Haderer was the top lister, and Machelle Lewis was the agent with the most new listings.

Valentine has more than 12 years of experience in the human resource/staffing industry.




Musket Ridge Golf Club



MYERSVILLE, Md. - Richard E. Mitchler of Hagerstown has been hired to manage food operations, including on-site dining and catering, at Musket Ridge Golf Club.

Mitchler was previously the food and beverage director at the Clarion Antietam Creek Hotel and Conference Center.




Grimes Truck Center



Richard Heiberger has been selected Employee of the Year for 2002 at Grimes Truck Center in Hagerstown.

Heiberger has been employed with Grimes for 20 years in the parts department.




Weiss Bros. of Hagerstown



Wayne Kriet was named Employee of the Year for 2002 at Weiss Bros. of Hagerstown Inc.

Kriet, a Weiss Brothers truck driver, was cited for his positive attitude and professionalism.

Steve Johnson was Sales Rep of the Year, and Stan Werkheiser of Georgia Pacific and Angela Hemler of Rubbermaid Commercial Products each received a Suppliers of the Year award.

The Best New Product Line award was given to Minuteman International, the company's key equipment line.




Keller Stonebraker Insurance



Nancy Stottlemyer, a Commercial Lines customer service representative of Keller Stonebraker Insurance Inc., has been designated a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter by the American Institute for CPCU.

The CPCU designation is conferred on persons who complete eight courses and national examinations and meet the institute's ethics and experience requirements.




Mount St. Mary's College



EMMITSBURG, Md. - David Rehm, associate professor of philosophy at Mount St. Mary's College, has been recognized as an Outstanding First Year Advocate by the National Resource Center for the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition and by the Houghton Mifflin Co.

Rehm was one of 10 faculty members chosen out of 120 nominated in the national competition.

The award honors college personnel for outstanding work on behalf of first-year students and for the impact their efforts have on the students and culture of their institutions.




Shepherd College



SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Richard A. Stevens Jr. has been named assistant vice president of student affairs at Shepherd College.

Stevens will supervise residence life, the College Center and the Greek fraternities and sororities on campus.

Stevens was an instructor and trainer in counseling, personnel services and sexual harassment at the University of Maryland and an instructor in the resident assistant course and facilitator in the first-year multicultural experience program at the College of William and Mary.

Associated Engineering Sciences Inc.



William Sprague and Barton W. Staley have joined the civil engineering department at Associated Engineering Sciences Inc. in Hagerstown.

Sprague, of Hagerstown, is a licensed civil engineer and professional land surveyor who operated his own engineering and surveying firm for many years and is knowledgeable about hydrology, hydraulics and storm water management issues. He will work as a professional engineer and design engineer for Associated Engineering Sciences.

Staley, of Hagerstown, is a recent graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He will work as a design engineer for Associated Engineering Sciences .

Dawn Needy of Hagerstown recently joined The Longaberger Co. as an independent sales associate.




Sentry Trust Co.



Randy Martin, senior vice president and employee benefits officer for Sentry Trust Co., acquired his life, accident and health license in November 2002.

Martin is now able to sell life and health insurance as well as fixed annuities.

His responsibilities include administrating and marketing IRA and Qualified Retirement Plan services to clients in Franklin, Fulton and Cumberland counties in Pennsylvania and in Washington County in Maryland.
