Vera N. Mueller

Vera Naoma Mueller, 92, of 14014 Marsh Pike, Hagerstown and formerly of 3402 Esther Place, Baltimore, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Dec. 23, 1910, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Louise Barwick Bridgeman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland William Mueller, in 2001.

She retired the from the Baltimore City Public School System in 1972 after 32 years of service.

She was a member of Patterson Park Baptist Church.

She was past department and national president of the 29th Division Association Auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter, Jean Weidman Langrall of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Pastor Jay M. Fretz will officiate. Burial will be in Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens, Baltimore.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.




Kenneth Monn

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Kenneth Monn, 73, of 11752 Carol Ave., died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Md.

Born Nov. 28, 1929, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Alice Monn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Marie Monn, in 1998.

He was employed by National Cash Register.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of Greencastle Baptist Church.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge 217 AF&AM, Tall Cedars 95 and Funkstown American Legion 211.

He is survived by a daughter, Kathi Bostelman of Stafford, Va.; a son, Keith Monn of Sardis, Tenn.; three sisters, Nellie Keplinger, Betty Mann and Nancy Ardinger, all of Hagerstown; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Monn, and a granddaughter.

Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Revs. Robert Gault and David F. Rasmussen will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

George H. Corbin

George Harnes "Buck" Corbin, 85, of 17712 Woodcrest Road, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Dec. 15, 1917, in Romney, W.Va., he was the son of the late Henry Harnes and Eva Mae Nealis Corbin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jean Sirk Corbin, Friday, Jan. 24, 2003.

He worked in the trucking industry for 54 years, retiring as the director of safety.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard.

He is survived by a daughter, Donna M. Wright of Hagerstown; a son, Henry S. Corbin of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a brother, Joe Corbin of Romney, W.Va.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing; however, the family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.




Linda J. Corbin

Linda Jean Corbin, 79, of 17712 Woodcrest Road, Hagerstown, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at Clearview Nursing Home, Hagerstown.

Born May 5, 1923, in Capon Bridge, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William Clarence and Margaret Alice Whetzel Sirk.

Her husband, George H. "Buck" Corbin, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna M. Wright of Hagerstown; a son, Henry S. Corbin of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; three sisters, JoAnn, Betty and Georgie; a brother, June; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five sisters and six brothers.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Vera C. Holmes

Vera Catherine Holmes, 79, of Julia Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown and formerly of 813 Frederick Street, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Jan. 13, 1924, in Tilghmanton, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Helen Burgan Showe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Holmes, in 1978.

She was employed by the Hagerstown Show Co. for 48 years.

She was a member of Evangelistic Temple.

She is survived by a daughter, Joyce E. Peck of Hagerstown; two sisters, Fern Gilbert and Phyllis Showe, both of Hagerstown; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
