Police looking for man who robbed 7-Eleven

The Hagerstown Police Department was searching Saturday night for a man who committed an armed robbery at a city business early Saturday morning, police said.

About 12:10 a.m., a man wearing a white T-shirt over his head, a gray shirt, black cargo pants and black shoes, entered the 7-Eleven store at 802 Salem Avenue, police said. He displayed a large butcher-style knife and demanded money, police said.

The man left the store after receiving an unknown amount of cash, police said. He was last seen fleeing on foot on Central Avenue.

The clerk was not injured, police said.

The suspect was described as being about 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds. His race was not known because his face was covered.

Police asked anyone with information about the crime to call the police at 301-790-3700.
