15-year-old charged in Pa. shooting

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A 15-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated assault for allegedly firing a shot Friday that injured a 61-year-old man, Chambersburg Police Department said Saturday.

The police did not release the names of the boy or the victim Saturday but said the juvenile and the victim did not know each other.

A police news release said the victim appeared to be shot in the chest and was taken to Chambersburg Hospital. Information on the condition of the victim was unavailable Saturday.

The man was shot at the Keystone Car Wash at 215 Brumbaugh Ave. about 4:20 p.m. Friday. Witnesses said the man was struck while he was backing his Jeep Grand Cherokee out of a bay after he washed the vehicle.

A preliminary hearing for the juvenile has been scheduled for Jan. 23, police said.
