Anniversaries

The Browns

John C. Sr. and Dorothy L. Brown of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, Jan. 3, 2003. An anniversary party in their honor will be Saturday, Feb. 15, hosted by their daughter and her husband, Aleta and John W. Turner.

The Browns were married Jan. 3, 1953, at the home of the Rev. Joseph Porterfield in Hagerstown.

Mrs. Brown is the former Dorothy Seilhamer, daughter of the late Paul and Gertrude Seilhamer. She is employed by Citicorp Credit Services.

Mr. Brown retired from J and W Mechanics in Hagerstown where he was a master mechanic. He also served terms in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy.

The Browns have six children, John C. Brown Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., Paul E. Brown of Troy, Ohio, Aleta M. Turner of Hagerstown, Tara C. Sealock of Falling Waters, W.Va., Carol D. Brown of Frederick, Md. and Lester C. Brown of Bremerton, Wash. They have 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.




The Keedys

Mr. and Mrs. John A. Keedy Sr. of Rohrersville were honored at a 45th wedding anniversary party Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Richardson's Restaurant in Hagerstown. The event was hosted by their two children, John Keedy Jr. and Kimberly (Keedy) Wesmiller and their families. The celebration was attended by a gathering of family and friends.

The Keedys were married Dec. 7, 1957, in Boonsboro by the Rev. David Ring, now deceased.

Mrs. Keedy attended Boonsboro High School. She is a homemaker.

Mr. Keedy attended Boonsboro High School. He is a retired auto mechanic.

They have four grandchildren.
