Alice Marie Wolfe

Williamsport - Alice Marie Wolfe, 80, of 15808 Clear Spring Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Jan. 19, 1922, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Lease and Nancy Ann Cassidy Gladhill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Elie "Floppins" Wolfe, in 1995.

She was a homemaker.

She attended Calvary Temple in Williamsport.

She is survived by two sons, Ralph L. Wolfe of Williamsport and Norman A. Wolfe of Clear Spring; two sisters, Margie Hull and Martha Hull, both of Hancock; one granddaughter; and two great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by one son, Samuel L. Wolfe; one daughter, Linda Diane Wolfe; and two sisters, Pearl Younker and Sara.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m., at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport. The Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open after 9 a.m.

Emelia A. Burke

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Emelia Anne Burke, 10 months, of 213 S. Potomac St., died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at Johns Hopkins Hospital Center in Baltimore.

Born March 15, 2002, in Hagerstown, she was the infant daughter of Michael Blevins and Sharaya Mobley, both of Waynesboro.

She is survived by one brother, Jonathan E. Mobley, at home; maternal grandparents, Keith and Cheryl Grossnickle of Waynesboro; paternal grandmother, Barbara Stone of Farmville, Va.; maternal great-grandmother, Alma Johnson of Hagerstown; and two aunts.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home in Hagerstown. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today at 1 p.m.




Ruth E. Meiklejohn

Ruth Elinor Meiklejohn, 85, of 10116 Sharpsburg Pike, Hagerstown, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at Somerford House.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. Allan F. Weatherholt will officiate.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Richard E. Kline

SMITHSBURG - Richard E. "Dick" Kline, 73, of Smithsburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home in Boonsboro.

Born July 29, 1929, in Leitersburg, he was the son of the late Elmer D. and Margie M. Smith Kline.

He was a 1948 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

He retired from the City of Hagerstown Water Department, where he operated the Smithsburg Water Plant for 30 years.

He was a member of First Christian Church in Hagerstown.

He was a member of Smithsburg Community Volunteer Fire Co., where he was chief for more than 10 years.

He was a member of Smithsburg Emergency Medical Services Inc.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lillian C. "Pat" Barnhart Kline; one daughter, Margaret C. Kline of Hagerstown; one son, Richard E. Kline Jr. of Smithsburg; and three sisters, Dorothy Koontz of Frederick, Md., Helen Lewis of Smithsburg, and JoAnn Dietrich of Hagerstown.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Kline and Bruce Kline.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg. Pastor Julie Brigham will officiate. Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery.

There will be no viewing; however, the family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dawn E. Heiser

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Dawn Elizabeth Kadle Heiser, 50, of Greencastle, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at Washington (D.C.) Hospital Center.

Born Dec. 18, 1952, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Gene Luther and Jeane Elizabeth Hockett Kadle of Hagerstown.

She was a 1970 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

She was employed for three years with the Pepsi Cola Co. in Williamsport.

She was a member of the Air National Guard in Martinsburg, W.Va.

She was a member of Calvary Brethren Church in Hagerstown, and attended Mount Zion Mennonite Church near Boonsboro.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by one son, Jason C. Barker of Franklin, Tenn.; one sister, Kathy Hepner of Hagerstown; two brothers, Chris Kadle of Hagerstown, and Doug Kadle of Tennessee; a close friend, Lawson Bonner of Chambersburg, Pa.; one granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.

There will be no visitation.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Arrangements are by Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro.




Dorothy M. Detrich

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Dorothy M. Detrich, 91, of 320-B Menno Village, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Sept. 19, 1911, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Edna Scheuerman Maxwell.
