January 15, 2003

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - A Martinsburg, W.Va., man was charged with two counts of malicious wounding after two people were stabbed at the Willow Spring Apartments early Saturday, West Virginia State Police said.

After receiving a call about the stabbing, Senior Trooper E.S. Fultz responded to a residence in the apartment complex north of Charles Town along U.S. 340 at about 12:24 a.m. He observed a male subject sitting on a couch bleeding from the left side of his stomach, said Jefferson County Magistrate Court records.

Fultz said he noticed another male sitting in the kitchen and bleeding from his right shoulder and back, court records said.

Fultz talked to two other people who said a person named Michael Fields had stabbed the two subjects, court records said. One of the victims told Fultz the stabbing occurred after an earlier disturbance at the apartment, court records said.
