Roundup - No. 1 Walkersville holds off Urbana

GIRLS BASKETBALL



WALKERSVILLE, Md. - No. 1 Walkersville played good, ol' fashion halfcourt defense in the middle two quarters, holding Urbana to just five baskets in the 16-minute stretch to win, 51-47, Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (10-1) got back defensively and stopped up the Hawks' transition game to get the lead, outscoring Urbana 22-16 in the second and third quarters.

Koffi Harrison led Walkersville with 19 points and 10 rebounds to go with three assists and four steals. D.J. Vernoy added 11 points while Gina Casadei had three assists and two steals for the Lions.

Katie Armentrout finished with 15 points and Jessica Mills had 13 for Urbana.
