Two Hagerstown men faced multiple drug-related charges following an undercover operation Monday outside the Venice Inn on Dual Highway, according to the Washington County Narcotics Task Force.
Police delayed releasing information about the crimes until Friday due to an ongoing investigation.
Task force members used a confidential informant to purchase crack cocaine and suspected Ecstacy on Monday evening in the hotel parking lot - a site chosen at random for what was termed "safety reasons," police said.
John William Harris was charged with distribution of crack cocaine, distribution of Ecstasy, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute Ecstasy, possession of cocaine and Ecstasy, conspiracy to distribute cocaine and conspiracy to distribute Ecstasy, police said.
Harris, 20, of 120 Manor Dr., Apt. 204, was being held on bonds totaling $165,000 late Friday at the Washington County Detention Center, police said.
