Shenandoah Valley Medical Center

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Michael Kiken of Martinsburg has joined the physician staff at Shenandoah Valley Medical Center and the office of Alex Wanger in the practice of obstetrics and gynecology.

Kiken, who is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, also has been appointed to the active medical staff at City Hospital, hospital officials said.

Manitowoc Crane Group

SHADY GROVE, Pa. - Rick Cline has been named director of parts operations with Manitowoc Crane Group's Product Support in the Americas team.

Cline, of Marlowe, W.Va., will be responsible for the growth, profitability and integration of Parts Sales, Parts Marketing and the Aftermarket Procurement Group for the Americas.


Keith Crider of Chambersburg, Pa., has been named director of service. He will be responsible for the growth and integration of the technical service operations, including in-house and field support.

Sam Meroney of Hagerstown has been named manager of technical communications. He will be responsible for the integration and business growth of the newly combined function of Technical Communications, which encompasses service, parts and sales training and the Crane Group's technical publications.

Widmyer Driving School

Roger Powers, a Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration-approved instructor with Widmyer Driving School, recently completed advanced instructor training and testing sponsored by the MVA Medical Advisory Board. Powers is now certified as a Rehabilitative Driving Instructor specializing in working with aging drivers' skills training.

Prior to his certification as a driver education instructor, Powers worked 26 years in law enforcement.

Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Betty Crumrine with Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA's Greencastle Office was recently recognized for reaching the $3 million mark in sales for 2002.

Crumrine, of Greencastle, joined ERA in 1998.

Daycon Products

Kathy Mertz has been recognized as the Associate of the Year 2002 at Daycon Products Co. Inc. in Hagerstown for outstanding sales and profit performance.

Mertz received a plaque and a cash bonus.

Hagerstown Community College

Lieba J. Cohen, Hagerstown Community College director of institutional advancement, received her recertification as a Certified Fund Raising Executive from CFRE International, which sets standards for philanthropy.

The credential is awarded to people who demonstrate ongoing practice and achievement as a professional fund-raiser, continued professional education and service to the profession and other nonprofit organizations.

CBM Industries

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Aaron Ziebarth has been appointed executive director of CBM Industries of South Central Pennsylvania Inc.

Ziebarth was previously executive director of Cooperstown Bible Camp in North Dakota, vice president of AAA Transportation in Minneapolis; program director at Center Lake Bible Camp; and intern director of admissions at Trinity College.

CBM oversees the Released Time Bible Program in a 10-county area of southcentral Pennsylvania.

Roxbury Correctional Institution

Lawrence Miller, correctional officer captain, is the Roxbury Correctional Institution Supervisor of the Quarter.

Miller was selected for his work in organizing and following through on tasks necessary for Roxbury to achieve compliance with the minimum standards for adult correctional institutions.

Roy Gilleo, Wayne Tucker, Ty Humberston and Roberta Barkley of the Case Management Department are Roxbury's Employees of the Month.

They were selected for their development of methods to place a large number of the frequently used case management forms into a format that has been placed into all the personal computers used by case management staff members.

Washington County Health Department

Trina Barr has been selected as Employee of the Month for January at the Washington County Health Department.

Barr is acting administrator and has been employed with the health department since August 1979.

Albright Crumbacker Moul & Itell

Albright Crumbacker Moul & Itell LLP has announced the promotion of two managers to the position of principal.

Kurt Miller, CPA, has 16 years experience in public accounting with a concentration in accounting and auditing. He has been with the firm for seven years.

Kert Shipway, CPA, has 14 years experience in public accounting with concentrations in corporate, individual, estate and fiduciary income tax as well as estate and personal financial planning. He has been with the firm for 10 years.

In addition, the firm welcomed the following new team members who joined the staff in November 2002 when it merged with Bachtell & Co.: Frank Park, partner emeritus; Paul Cunningham and Randy Rachor, who joined the staff as managers; Jullie Caniford as a senior accountant; Karen Crawford-Carbaugh and Michele Kendle as in-charge accountants; and Debra Persons and Marilyn Switzer have joined the firm's administrative team.
