Red Cross in need of blood

January 06, 2003

All eligible blood donors - especially those with type O-negative blood - are urged to roll up their sleeves Tuesday at the bloodmobile at St. John's United Church of Christ in Clear Spring, local American Red Cross officials said.

The bloodmobile will be from 1 to 7 p.m.

Currently, there is less than a day's supply of that type of blood, said Pam Sharp, director of product management for the Greater Alleghenies Region, with which Washington County and parts of the Tri-State area are affiliated.

Bad weather and the holidays have combined to keep people from donating blood in recent weeks.
