City councilman enters hospital

December 30, 2002|by SCOTT BUTKI

Hagerstown Councilman N. Linn Hendershot was admitted Friday to Washington County Hospital after experiencing shortness of breath, which he said he thinks is pneumonia.

Hendershot was in fair condition Friday night.

Hendershot said he woke up at his home Friday morning with "raspiness" in his chest and had his sister take him to the hospital.

Hendershot, who breathes with the aid of a ventilator, said it is even more difficult to breathe when he has congestion problems, as was the case Friday, he said.

Hendershot said he expects to be in the hospital this weekend and hopes to be released Monday.

He said he gets pneumonia about once every 12 to 18 months but is not usually hospitalized.
