Paul K. Davis

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Paul K. "Bill" Davis, 87, of Rose Manor Assisted Living and formerly of South Oller Ave., died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born June 16, 1915, near Smithsburg, he was the son of the late Harry M. and Etta L. Pryor Davis.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Harriet M. Henicle Davis, in 1948, and his second wife, Zelma E. Ford Davis, in 1994.

He was employed by Rouzerville Fabricating and Welding Inc., retiring in 1980. He also was employed by Sunshine Lanes in Rouzerville, Pa., and Magnus Metal in Waynesboro.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Hall of Fame Franklin County Bowling Association.

He is survived by two daughters, Lois Oberholzer of Shady Grove, Pa., and Paula Steckler of Phoenix, Md.; one son, William B. Davis of Chambersburg, Pa.; one sister, Rhoda Shoop of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren, including Sherry M. Cline of Waynesboro, whom he raised; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg. Pastor Dale Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Burns Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home also will be open Sunday from 1 to 9 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.




Mary E. Clingerman

BERLIN, Md. - Mary Elizabeth Clingerman, 81, of Berlin and formerly of Crystal Spring, Pa., and Hancock, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin.

Born July 12, 1921, in East Providence Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Simon B. and Nettie Whitfield Conner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred R. Clingerman Sr., in 1974. They were married Aug. 4, 1945.

She was a homemaker.

She was a Protestant.

She is survived by one son, Fred R. Clingerman Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas; one brother, Roy Conner of Breezewood, Pa.; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Dale L. Clingerman and Steven Clingerman; three sisters, Lennica Ward, Flora Means and Marjorie Akers; and five brothers, John Conner, Paul Conner, Luther Conner, Lewis Conner and Walter Conner.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Dalla Valle Funeral Chapel, Everett, Pa. The Rev. Lowell Bard will officiate. Burial will be in Union Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.




Millard W. Oliver Jr.

Millard William Oliver Jr., 79, of 18648 Jarkey Drive, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Jan. 5, 1923, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Millard William Oliver Sr. and Ella R. Claudy Oliver.

He was employed by Letterkenny Army Depot for 30 years.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was a Protestant.

He was a member of AMVETS Post 10; American Legion Morris Frock Post 42 and DAV.

He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Moats Oliver; one son, Duane M. Oliver Sr. of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Felicia Oliver and Duane M. Oliver Jr., both of Shepherdstown; three sisters and two brothers.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Cronise O. Barr will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, with military honors by American Legion Morris Frock Post 42.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Elizabeth M. Gamble

Elizabeth M. Gamble, 79, of 19105 Longmeadow Road, Hagerstown and formerly of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Concord, Pa., died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born May 10, 1923, in Shade Gap, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Walter T. and Jessie F. Carlin Bair.

She was a graduate of the former Orbisonia High School in Orbisonia, Pa.

She was a homemaker.

She was a former member of Concord United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Norman A. Gamble, whom she married June 28, 1941; two sons, Norm E. Gamble of Spring Run, Pa., and Gregory A. Gamble of Hagerstown; and four grandsons.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at John L. Agett Funeral Home, Dry Run, Pa. The Rev. Marlin A. Neil will officiate. Burial will be in Upper Path Valley Cemetery, Dry Run.

The family will receive friends Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.




June L. Jesson

June Lorraine Jesson, 76, formerly of 923 Marion St., Hagerstown and Potomac Towers, who died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, is survived by her granddaughter, Misti A. Jesson of Hagerstown.




Kirkland M. Brace

Kirkland Michael Brace, 21, son of Kirkland R. and Diane Brace, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002.
