Frederick man shot in right arm, left buttock

FREDERICK, Md. - A Frederick man was shot twice late Friday while standing in a crowd of people at Carver Apartments, according to the Frederick Police Department.

Michael Allen Barnwell, 29, of Elmwood Terrace, was shot in the right arm and left buttock at about 7:30 p.m., police said.

Barnwell was listed in stable condition late Saturday at Frederick Memorial Hospital, a nursing supervisor said.

Frederick police responded to Carver Apartments after receiving a report of shots fired, but could not verify the authenticity of the call. Barnwell was then located at Frederick Memorial Hospital, and a subsequent investigation established that he had been shot in front of building No. 3 at the apartment complex, police said.

Hagerstown man faces distribution charge

A Hagerstown man was charged with distribution of crack cocaine Friday night after police executed a search and seizure warrant at 277 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown Police said.


Roy Owen Smith, 20, was also charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Two adults, juvenile face drug charges

Three Hagerstown residents were charged with drug crimes in the parking lot of Bingo Island, 920 W. Washington St., Friday night, Hagerstown Police said.

Yamisha Magdalena Rodriquez, 19, of 105 High St., Duwane Leo Frisby, 20, of 420 Mitchell St., and a juvenile were charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, police said.

Money, scales and about two "eight balls" of crack were seized, police said.
