Hagerstown man faces charges in brother's shooting

FREDERICK, Md. - A Hagerstown man has been charged with attempted second-degree murder in connection with the Monday morning shooting of his brother while both men were in a vehicle on eastbound Interstate 70 near Ridge Road, Maryland State Police in Frederick said.

Timothy Lee Guy, 19, of 19600 Granada Lane was being held at the Frederick County Detention Center awaiting an appearance before a bond commissioner, jail officials said Monday night.

In addition to the attempted second-degree murder charge, Guy also was charged with first-degree assault, possession of a handgun and reckless endangerment, police said.

His brother, Mark Anthony Guy, age unknown, also of 19600 Granada Lane, Hagerstown, was shot in the left shoulder during a 3:45 a.m. dispute over the brothers being evicted from their home, police said.

Timothy Guy was reportedly the driver of a 1992 Ford Explorer while his brother was in the passenger seat, police said.

Mark Guy was initially dropped off at Frederick Memorial Hospital and later transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. His condition was listed as serious Monday night, a nursing supervisor said.

Granada Lane is in Lurose Estates in the Paramount area of Washington County.
