Woman robbed at gunpoint, then slashed by assailants

HAGERSTOWN - Two men robbed a woman and cut her throat Wednesday night, Hagerstown City Police Sergeant David L. Long said.

The victim, whose name was not released, underwent emergency surgery Wednesday night. Her condition was not available.

The woman was walking in an alley off Randolph Avenue when she was approached by two men, Long said.

One of the men showed her he had a gun and demanded her money, Long said. After she gave them cash they demanded more money and she told them she did not have any more, Long said.

One of the men cut the woman's throat with a knife before they fled the area, Long said.

The woman got home and police were called, he said.

The police arrived at about 7:50 p.m.

The woman's assailants were described as black men, one of whom was wearing a black puffy jacket, Long said.
