Ray P. Webb

MAUGANSVILLE - Ray Patterson Webb, 80, of Maugansville, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Medical Care Center in Lynchburg, Va.

Born Oct. 17, 1922, in Hagers-town, he was the son of the late Charles Henry and Maud Patterson Webb.

He retired from Mack Trucks.

He was member of the Maugansville Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris Kreglo Webb; one daughter, Kay W. Burke of Amelia, Va.; one son, Jay K. Webb of Lynchburg; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown.

Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory, Lynchburg.




Lorene D. Peterson

DRY RUN, Pa. - Lorene D. "Gram" Peterson, 92, of Aprontree Personal Care Home, and formerly of School Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Aprontree Personal Care Home.

Born Dec. 27, 1909, in Dry Run, she was the daughter of the late Dennis C. and Minnie J. Best Dunkle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Harold "Pete" Peterson.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Spring Run (Pa.) United Methodist Church.

She was a member of McCartney American Legion Post 262 in Dry Run and the Ladies Auxiliary; Path Valley Lioness Club; and Fannett-Metal Fire and Ambulance Co. of Dry Run and the Ladies Auxiliary. She was an honorary citizen of Mooseheart of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 842 of Chambersburg.

She is survived by five daughters, Janet Humbert of Chambersburg, and Jennie Atherton, Lena McMullen, Jackie Monninger and Linda Sites, all of Dry Run; two sons, W. Carl Peterson of Spring Run, and James Peterson of Dry Run; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Ross Dunkle; two sisters, Gail Dunkle, and her twin, Grace Worley; one son, Donald S. Peterson Sr.; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one great-great-grandson.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Spring Run United Methodist Church. The Rev. William R. Bair will officiate. Burial will be in Upper Path Valley Cemetery, Dry Run.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at John L. Agett Funeral Home, Dry Run.

Mary Jane Heefner

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mary Jane Cook Kuhn Heefner, 70, of 2536 Black Gap Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at her home.

Born May 9, 1932, in Greene Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Ralph D. and Miriam E. Culler Cook.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles A. Kuhn, in 1998. They were married June 26, 1952.

She was a 1950 graduate of Chambersburg High School.

She was employed by Wood Hill Farms Packing House and Niagara Chemical Division, both in Chambersburg; and by Oliver Oil Co. as a manager of the company's Blue Chip Mini Markets in Chambersburg and Shippensburg.

She was a member of Salem United Brethren Church in Chambersburg, where she was a member of the Adult Sunday School class.

She was a member of Franklin County Society of Farm Women Group 7 and Falling Spring Chapter 2840 AARP, both of Chambersburg; a member and past president of Chambersburg Mall Walkers Association of Chambersburg; a former leader of Penn Laurel Girl Scouts Brownie Troop 842 of Scotland, Pa.; a former member of Greene Township (Pa.) Committee Women; a former Greene Township Tax Assessor; and a member of the Franklin County Democratic Committee.

She is survived by her husband, Harold E. "Gene" Heefner, whom she married May 5, 2001; four daughters, Lois J. Haverstock, Susan K. Henry and Diane M. Bradford, both of Chambersburg and Linda L. Grove of Shippensburg, Pa.; one stepdaughter, Margaret J. Bowman of Shippensburg; two stepsons, Michael E. Heefner of Shippensburg, and Gregory B. Heefner of East Berlin, Pa.; one sister, Faye L. Fisher of South Mountain, Pa.; two brothers, the Rev. Ronald L. Cook and Carl W. Cook, both of Chambersburg; eight grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Salem United Brethren Church, Chambersburg. The Revs. Ronald L. Cook, John W. Stamm and Maurice Bender will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg; and Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the church.

Rose M. Miller

TIOGA, Pa. - Rose Marie Miller, 44, of 324 Parkhill Road, and formerly of 9123 Fort McCord Road, Chambersburg, Pa., died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at Corning (N.Y.) Hospital.

Born Oct. 22, 1958, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Omar E. Stine Sr. and Clara Mae Tritle Stine.
