Railroaders hold off Poolesville

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Brunswick withstood a late barrage from Poolesville to record a 68-62 victory on its home floor Tuesday night.

Holding a 48-30 lead after three periods, Poolesville (1-1) connected on six 3-pointers to eventually cut the gap to four points before the Railroaders hit on 7 of 8 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

Senior Brandon Dykes had 19 points for Brunswick (2-0) and was backed with 16 from Jason Anderson and 15 from Jeremy Hueston, who also hit three times from behind the arc. Anderson also had 9 rebounds.

WALKERSVILLE, Md. - John Keimig had a team-high 28 points for Middletown and hit a big 3-pointer with about a minute remaining in regulation to tie the game at 53. Senior Brad Kehoe then made a layup from his own offensive rebound to win the game for the Knights (1-1, 1-1). Kehoe finished with 12 points.

Brock McCollum led Walkersville (0-2, 0-2) with 17 points and 14 rebounds before fouling out late in the game.
