Broadfording's Moore dunks Heritage

BOYS BASKETBALL



Sean Moore had 29 points, including the game-winning steal and dunk with seven seconds remaining, to lift Broadfording to a 63-61 win over Heritage Monday night.

Jon Bishop added 17 points and Eric Longerbeam had 10 for Broadfording (4-1).

Kenton Shatzer led Heritage (4-1, 1-1) with 25 points and 10 rebounds, and Drew Kidd added 17 points, 10 assists and 10 steals in the loss.

Mercersburg wins two in Canada


LONDON, Ontario - Mercersburg Academy went 2-1 in the North American Prep Stars Tournament played in Canada over the weekend.

The Blue Storm dropped their first game to Laurinburg Academy 104-66, then went on to defeat Herman High School 75-43 and Borden High School, 62-30.

Carlos Campos averaged 17 points per game in the tournament, while Sean Christiansen averaged 13.7 points and seven assists per game for Mercersburg. Chris Le Borious put up double figures in rebounds in each game, with 12, 14, and 16.

North Hagerstown struggled from the free-throw line, hitting just eight of 22 shots in an MVAL loss to Francis Scott Key.

Christine Ennis led North (0-2, 0-2) with 13 points and three steals and Alexa Suiter grabbed 14 rebounds.
