Two take the oath of office

December 10, 2002|by MARLO BARNHART

CLEAR SPRING - The Leonard P. Snyder branch of the Washington County Free Library was a perfect setting for Monday night's swearing in ceremony for two town officers.

Vice Mayor Julianna Albowicz won re-election to that post last month by way of write-in votes.

Technically, she was on the ballot for the open council seat but with the death of her husband - Councilman Bill Albowicz - just before the election, the write-in votes propelled her back into her former post.

Newcomer Terry Baker also took his oath of office Monday night, beginning his first venture into hometown politics.

Dennis Weaver, clerk of the Washington County Circuit Court, administered the oath to both Albowicz and Baker.
