VALHALLA, N.Y. - Hagerstown Community College fell to West Chester Community College in the consolation final of the Region XV Classic.

Thomas Johnson led the Hawks (4-5) with 15 points, while Peter Sajery added 13.

HCC fell 99-77 in first-round tourney action Friday night. Nagee Johnson led the Hawks with 20 points.

ROCKVILLE, Md. - Kristy Gaines had 26 points and 14 rebounds to lead HCC to a conference win over Montgomery-Rockville, 63-59. Kim Davis had 13 points and eight assists, while Alicia Romero added 10 points for Hagerstown.

With the victory, HCC improves to 5-3 and will play host to Catonsville Wednesday at 5:30.

WASHINGTON - St. Maria Goretti dug out of an early hole to pull within six points of Gonzaga in the fourth quarter, but the Gaels fell short in the St. Albans Tournament.

Derrick Davis had 29 pointsand Joey Breslin added 19 for the Gaels (2-2).

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Brunswick battled back from a 14-point deficit in the final 12 minutes of the game - including a 37-22 advantage in the fourth quarter - to hustle past Walkersville in the Monocacy Valley Athletic League and season opener of the season.

The Railroaders got a jolt from its defense and used eight straight points by Brandon Dykes - including two on a momentum swinging dunk - to start the turnaround. Matt Feldman scored 12 of his 16 points and Jason Anderson 10 of his 17 in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback. Brunswick hit 23 of 27 free throws in the game.
