FREDERICK, Md. - Three weeks have been set aside for a murder trial involving a Martinsburg, W.Va., woman charged with killing a 16-year-old mother and her infant daughter in October.

Sonya Marie Daniels, 25, of 110 Georgetown Square, was indicted on Nov. 15 on two counts of first-degree murder, according to Frederick County Deputy State's Attorney Charlie Smith.

Daniels is accused of fatally shooting Deanne Maria Prichard and her 5-week-old daughter, Makayla Ann Frost, on Oct. 19.

Police said Prichard and her daughter were shot in the street near their home on Discovery Boulevard in Walkersville, Md.

Daniels was stopped while driving near her home. She was arrested and charged the next day.

Smith said a trial has been scheduled to run from March 24 to April 11.

Daniels is being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center without bond.
