Recipe - Alma's moon cookies

Alma's Moon Cookies



  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 4 (3/4-ounce) Heath toffee bars, crushed


In a large mixer bowl, combine all ingredients except toffee candy. Blend well with mixer. Spoon out in teaspoon increments. Place 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Cover center of cookie with about 1/2 teaspoon of crushed toffee. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

Makes about 54 cookies.
