A Martinsburg man has been charged with robbing two Berkeley County stores early Tuesday.

David W. Faucette, 38, was arrested Wednesday at a Waffle House on Virginia Avenue in Hagerstown. He was being held without bail at the Washington County Detention Center.

He was charged with robberies of a Texaco station on King Street in Martinsburg at around 3 a.m. Tuesday, and the Shanghai Grocery at around 8 a.m., police said.

Warrants issued in Berkeley County charged Faucette with two felony counts of aggravated robbery.

Police said a third robbery a day earlier at the Hedgesville, W.Va., 7-Eleven, was not connected.

Police said two hunters who had gone to Shanghai Grocery, followed the robber's white SUV. The hunters and three clerks working at the store gave police a description of the robber, along with his car and a woman in the car with him.

Washington County deputies and state troopers approached Faucette and a woman with him at the Virginia Avenue restaurant early Wednesday, according to police.
