Lions reach finals of own tournament

BOYS BASKETBALL



Sean Moore had 27 points and Eric Longerbeam had 16 as Broadfording defeated Emanuel Baptist 87-84 Monday in the opening round of the BCS Lions Classic.

Jay Knickerbocker had 36 points and Kyle Ohman had 23 for Emanuel in a losing cause.

Broadfording will take on Bishop Walsh in the championship game tonight at 8.

Bishop Walsh 50, St. James 38


Alex Krstic had 27 points and Steven Amoroso had 15 to lead Bishop Walsh.

Jordan Ottley led St. James with 10 points. Brock Twigg scored eight points, and had six rebounds and Andrew Dewey scored seven points with seven rebounds for St. James.




GIRLS BASKETBALL



Broadfording 67, H. View 22


Dee Brown had a double-double of 16 points and 12 assists to lead Broadfording to a first round victory in the Lion Classic Tip-Off Tournament.

Natasha Wheeler led Broadfording in scoring with 24 points and added eight boards in the win.

Broadfording will play Goretti in the championship today at 6:30 and Highland View will take on Grace Brethren today at 3:30.

Williamspoort Soccer Club 2, 9 United 1: Chris Mills scored both goals as Williamsport Soccer Club advanced to the league finals with an overtime victory.

Dargan 52, St. James 'B' 39: Dan Elgin scored 17 points and Brian Shumaker added 14 to lead Dargan. Josh Norris had 17 for St. James.

Christ Luthern 64, Rehoboth 42: Steve Wilson had 14 points and Andy Koontz added 10 to lead Christ Luthern. Wade Staley led Rehoboth with 21 points.

West End Baptist 47, Smithsburg Valley Baptist 38: Steve Presgraves scored 12 pointsand Johnny Barr had 11 for West End. Andrew Leasure led Smithsburg with 11.
