Gift shop recognizes volunteers

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Carousel Gift Shop and Coffee Shop in the Chambersburg Hospital recently celebrated its 35th anniversary with a celebration in the main lobby of the hospital.

Karen Shoemaker, manager of the gift shop, and Pam Emory, manager of the coffee shop, recognized nine volunteers who were honored in recognition of their 30 to 35 years as dedicated volunteers to the gift shop, coffee shop and hospitality cart. They are Diane Kirkpatrick, Sue Rice, Mickey Vink, Esther Wagner, Ginny Backofen, Margaret Frey, Doris Heberling, Mary Jane Lynch and Bernice Reese.

Ann Meals was recognized for her donation to the gift shop in memory of her husband, J. Kermit Meals.

Entertainment was provided by the Chambersburg Hospital Auxiliary Singers. A display of pictures from 35 years ago was displayed in the lobby, while promotions were offered all day in the gift shop and coffee shop as a thank you to the customers. Refreshments were also provided. Each gift shop, coffee shop and hospitality cart volunteer was presented with a flower.

The Carousel Gift Shop and Coffee Shop is owned by The Chambersburg Hospital Auxiliary and all shifts are staffed by volunteers. All profits are donated to the hospital in support of numerous programs.
