HCC radiologic students honored

Hagerstown Community College radiologic technology students Jamie Shank of Boonsboro and Jessica Baker of Hagerstown were recognized by the Maryland Society of Radiologic Technologists during its 43rd annual meeting Nov. 1 and 2 in Ocean City, Md.

Baker won third place in the organization's statewide student essay competition. Her essay, "Achieving Success as a Student in Radiography," explored techniques used to relieve job-related stress and components that go into becoming a competent radiologic technologist. Baker received a plaque recognizing her accomplishment and $35 in prize money.

Shank was awarded the Ted Lynch Memorial Scholarship in recognition of her demonstrated leadership and academic abilities. Lynch was a popular technician involved with the Maryland Society of Radiologic Technologists several years ago.
